Private Radio Paging and the Narrowbanding Mandate
The only Part 90 VHF or UHF frequencies that are completely exempt from the FCC's
narrowbanding deadline are the following frequencies allocated for one-way paging:
Exempt Public Safety Pool Paging-Only Channels are:
152.0075 and 157.450
Exempt Industrial/Business Pool Paging-Only Channels are:
If a licensee is operating a radio paging system on any other Part 90 VHF or UHF LMR
frequency, including Med Channels 163.250, 150.775 and 150.790 MHz, that system is
subject to compliance with the January 1, 2013 narrowbanding mandate and efficiency
standards
